  The second Iron Man movie was built on the success of the first one, made only a short time afterwards. In retrospect, this movie is truly based on the idea of legacy: For Tony, he’s the legacy of his father, a weapons manufacturer. It’s also about Tony’s legacy: what he brings to the world (10+ years later, it’s also about a young Peter Parker not knowing he’s Tony’s future legacy) as Iron Man and Stark Industries. I really like this movie. I remember watching it on New Year’s Eve one year. It’s also the only DVD I completely wore out and had to buy the Blu-ray. Robert Downey, Jr shows he’s truly Tony Stark and how a man like that deals with his past and the possibility of the future.   Moscow: Anton Vanko watches Tony Stark say he’s Iron Man and dies. It’s the same dude from Agent Carter. Mickey Rourke as Ivan Vanko screams and drinks vodka. He has ARC Reactor blueprints and starts making a miniature one like Tony. I Too Am Extraordinarily Humble

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 is a fun MCU movie, better than the first. By this time, people knew and loved Star Lord and his motley crew of losers. The picture above was on the DVD Display Stand. It appeared in the break-room at my job at Barnes & Noble and it reignited my love for this franchise. Plus they just look cool, like the Ramones the picture’s based on. Chronologically, this movie takes place right after the first one even though Age of Ultron came first. Unlike the first one, the Guardians are separated from each other. We all know they do their best work together as a family. As far as Peter Quill goes, the first movie dealt with his mother issues. Now it’s his father issues. James Gunn seemed to have a lot of fun with this movie, proving the Guardians belong in the MCU and are box office gold. This movie, fair warning, has a lot to it. Who the Hell is Bucky?

  Captain America: The Winter Soldier is one of the best Marvel movies ever made. It was the first movie the Russo Brothers did in the MCU, and now they’re moving on to Doomsday . This is the movie I had in mind when I first came up with the notion of doing this blog. I wanted to write up a list based on Steve’s notebook; an explanation of all the pop culture things he missed while doing time as a “Capsicle.” International versions of the movie had different lists based on whatever country they were in. Crazily enough, I also wanted to listen to the Troubleman soundtrack, based on Falcon’s recommendation. More on that later in the week. Anyways, this movie is really a political \ spycraft movie like they had in the 70’s. It’s Steve trying to acclimate to the 21st Century after WWII and the events of The Avengers , gaining new allies and old enemies.
